UCS believes that participation in a cheer squad teaches valuable lessons in school spirit, cooperation, and leadership.
Opportunities to cheer on teams are provided for girls in preschool, lower and upper elementary. These teams focus on learning school chants and have the opportunity to cheer at pep rallies and home games.
Cheerleading at the junior varsity and varsity level involve tryouts for squad selection. High expectations are placed on these girls to display a Christian character while leading the student body in school spirit. These girls stay busy learning cheers and dance routines for pep rallies and games—both home and away—for all football and select basketball games.
