Preschool through Kindergarten (K3 - K5)
* Step One - Admissions Criteria:
All students applying for admittance in our preschool/Kindergarten must meet the following criteria:
All students must be fully potty trained
All students must fully speak and understand the English language
All students must be the appropriate age by September 1 of the school year they are entering
ex. - if entering K3 (three year old class), the student must be 3 years old on or before September 1 of
the school year in which he/she will begin.
* Step Two - Admission Packet Completed:
The new student registration packet can be downloaded from our website at universitychristianschool.org or
picked up in our school office.
* Step Three - Registration Appointment:
Registration made by appointment only
Appointments may be scheduled by calling the school office at 601-992-5333
This appointment will take approximately 15 minutes
The following must be turned in to the UCS Office at the registration appointment:
Completed registration application
Completed Pre/K Survey
Certified Birth Certificate (a copy is acceptable)
Social Security Card (a copy is acceptable)
Immunization Form - MUST be on the MS Form 121
Application Fee - a check made payable to UCS
Registration Fee - a check made payable to UCS
Book Usage /Technology Fee - a check made payable to UCS - can be post-dated for June 1, 2010
Family Fee(if applicable) - see tuition schedule for payment options
A voided check for the bank draft monthly payment
Students will not be officially enrolled until all of the above is complete.
First through Twelfth Grades
* Step One - Admission Packet Completed:
The following must be turned in to the UCS Guidance Counselor prior to the Academic Evaluation:
Enrollment application for new students (found on our website or at school office)
$100 application fee made payable to UCS (must be included with application)
Copy of birth certificate, current immunization form, social security card
Transcript from last school attended and current report card
It will then be determined if a class schedule can be made
If a student has been home-schooled, documentation of courses completed must be provided
Confidential teacher recommendations (G1-G5, 1 is required - G6-G12, 2 are required)
Behavior Report from the last school attended covering one year from date enrolling
(Only students with completed admissions packets will be allowed to schedule testing appointments)
* Step Two - Academic Evaluation:
The Stanford Grade Equivalency Test will be administered based on current grade level. The exam lasts
approximately 1-2 hours. The Guidance Counselor will schedule a time for this to be taken. The exam fee is
$50.00, payable at time of exam.
* Step Three - Recommendation to the Admissions Committee:
Once the Academic Evaluation is completed and graded, recommendation by the Guidance Counselor to the
Admissions Committee may be made. The Admissions Committee will make a decision based on all received information.
* Step Four – Decision of the Admissions Committee:
The Head of School will communicate the decision of the Admissions Committee to the parent. An "admitted" decision proceeds to a registration appointment. If the parent/guardian feels that the student has been denied enrollment unfairly he/she may appeal to the Admissions Committee. If, following the appeals, he/she still feels the applicant has been denied admittance unfairly he/she may appeal to the UCS Board of Directors via written correspondence.
* Step Five - Registration:
A registration appointment is made through the school office. For this appointment, we will need:
Application fee - a check made payable to UCS
Registration fee - a check made payable to UCS
Book Fee - a check made payable to UCS - can be post-dated for June 1, 2010
A voided check from the bank where the tuition will be drafted
